    Maintenance Associate
    Reports to: VP of Facilities and Security
    Hours: Fulltime position – 40 hours a week. Allow for flexibility
     
    HFI Mission Duties: Holy Family Institute (HFI) is a 120-year-old Catholic organization with an impeccable history of serving children and families in the Pittsburgh Region. We are one of Pittsburgh’s largest social service organizations operating 15 programs in two counties. We are an independent organization guided by Catholic Social Teachings and serving people of all faiths and backgrounds. 
     
    General Statement of Duties: The Maintenance Associate is responsible for general maintenance and repairs at facilities owned or operated by Holy Family Institute.???The Maintenance Associate will?be responsible for?completing work orders and other required tasks as needed to keep?the facilities operating.? This candidate must be able to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner while working both independently and as a team. 
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute 
    • The Maintenance Associate is responsible for general maintenance and repairs at Holy Family Institute campus  
    • Perform daily repairs and service, as directed through the on-line maintenance request system and supervisor 
    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections, as directed 
    • Completes assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner 
    • Assist in setting up and breaking down for large group special functions, i.e. All staff events, training etc. 
    • Maintain neat and orderly work areas, as well as maintain supply stock for maintenance 
    • Participates in staff meetings 
    • Provide feedback when difficulties arise in completing tasks 
    • Make suggestions and recommendations to increase effectiveness 
    • Work effectively with the other members of the Maintenance Department team and other program staff 
    • Participates in all required agency and regulatory training within the expected time frame 
    • Models appropriate behaviors (e.g., respect for others, appropriate dress, appropriate conflict resolution, etc.) 
    • Promptly reports civil or criminal convictions, charges, arrests, investigations, or adjudications that may arise since staff member’s last background investigation. This includes but is not limited to sexual abuse in a prison, jail, holding facility, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, other institution (as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997), or?care?provider facility; conviction of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or who was civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in such activity 
    • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor 
     
    Requirements: 
    • High School Diploma: Trade School Certificate preferred 
    • Experience with repairs and general maintenance 
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience  
    • Must have Act 33/34 and FBI clearances and valid PA driver’s license. 
    • Must be able to drive between HFI locations 
    • Must be at least 21 years of age 
     
    Physical Requirements: 
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards 
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards 
    • Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform physical activities, such as climbing ladders and stairs 
    • Standing for periods of time that might be longer than an hour at a time
